We're Ralph & Lahni de Amicisand we personally drive private, custom, Napa & Sonoma Wine Toursin our SUVs for up to six (6) guests. We'd love to share the friendliest wineries with you, both on and off the beaten path, with their gorgeous views, picnic areas and of course, great wines. We have no standard tours, each is unique and built around our guests. We know the best way to put multiple wineries together into an enjoyable day trip, choosing places based on your desires and interests. We are happy to make any neccesary appointments (don't worry, most of the popular wineries don't require them).
Why do we know this area so well? We specialize in wine tours, choosing from 1000+ wineries, including both the famous labels and the small, off the beaten path vineyards. Most limo companies visit the same 5-10 places because it's easy. We also write tour Books (we include one as a gift), popular mobile Apps and a 'behind the scenes', local TV ShowWine Country @Work. We drive the tours ourselves because we enjoy introducing Wine Country to our guests. But, because there are only two of us we have a limited number of appointments available, so please contact us to see if we have your dates available. We often do!
To Book a Napa or Sonoma Wine Tour, or for more information callLahni at 707-235-2648 (she is very friendly and loves to hear from you!) or use this handy form to email us. We respond very quickly.
Our Rates:The standard in-season vehicle rate is $85 per hour for parties of up to 6 people. (Off-season rate: $75 per hr) We do add a fuel surcharge since fuel costs are so high. The surcharge is currently a flat rate of $30-$50 per day reserved depending on size of group and point of origin. Fuel charges are subject to change in relation to gasoline prices.
Example: a 5 hour weekday tour with a local pickup and tour region is $425 plus $30 fuel ($455 in season; $405 off-season). A 6 hr weekend tour from San Francisco is $510.00 plus $50 fuel ($560 in season; $510 off-season). We only bill from door to door rather than garage to garage like many other services. Gratuities are always at your discretion.

Tours include a gift copy of our tour book Napa & Sonoma, A Love Affair in Maps. Remember to Push SEND! Thanks!

Helpful Notes: We carry plenty of bottled water to refresh your palate and keep your head happy. Our Lincoln Navigator SUV is comfortable, quiet and offers wonderful views, something lacking in low-slung, interior facing limousines. See the video below. Tasting fees & lunch are not included because prices vary widely and there are so make great food choices. We pick up in Napa, Sonoma & San Francisco.
We have a fun suggestion for you based on what some of our other clients do. In the morning you might want to take the 8:30am ferry from The Ferry Building on the Embarcadero to Vallejo. It is a short taxi ride from many of the downtown hotels to the Ferry building, then it is an hour ride across the bay.
The catamaran Ferry is spacious, with great views (assuming the fog behaves itself), very smooth, and comes complete with an on board coffee shop and of course nice rest rooms. When you arrive you walk into the terminal and directly out the other side where I will meet you. It is about 30 minutes from there to the heart of the Napa Valley, and about the same to Sonoma. Currently the ferry costs $13 per person, plus the short taxi ride of course. You have to be up and out a little earlier but it is worth it.
At the end of the day we are happy to drive you back into the city over the Golden Gate. Often, after a day of tasting people like to lean back, relax and be delivered to their door. Of course we are happy to pick you up at the hotel in the morning, but if you are up for it, we think you will find this a treat. Please let me know if you would like this option. Check Ferry Schedule!

Thanks to both of you for our recent wine tour in Napa. You were perfect guides, very attentive to our needs and wants, and brimming with knowledge about wines, vineyards, wineries, and Napa history. Thanks for the extra stop at the Culinary Institute. Your Lincoln Navigator was ultra-comfy and it was a relief to just sit back and sample the wine without having to worry about driving. I hope that any readers of this letter understand that they will be getting great value for their money.

What you should know about Wine Country!
First of all, Napa and Sonoma are stunning no matter what time of year you visit. In the summer it looks like Tuscany, gold and green, and in the winter it looks like Ireland, misty and verdant. Then there is the lovely climate (about ten to fifteen degrees warmer than San Francisco), the great architecture and gardens, the fantastic food and the friendly people.
All of these would be reason enough to visit, but on top of that there are the wineries and of course, the wine, some of the finest in the world, and you get to see actual vineyards that those wines come from and meet the people who make them! Our books and guided tours are all designed to help you enjoy your visit to the fullest while learning about this wonderful area and this wonderful art! Wine Country can be tricky though, with lots of country roads, not a lot of road signs or street lights, hundreds of wineries, lots of hotels and restaurants and a wide variety of wines spread over two large, agricultural counties, bisected by a mountain range. That's why experienced guides and drivers are a great investment in your enjoyment and safety (think about avoiding a costly DUI) and they make all the difference in the memories that you bring home. By the way, remember to bring a camera and sunglasses because there is lots of beautiful scenery and very bright sun!
About the bestselling tour book, ‘Your Day in Wine Country, Touring the Wineries of Napa and Sonoma’. We rebranded it as the Amicis Winery Guide: Dream Tours of Napa & Sonoma. and in 2010 produced individual county versions as well.
They offer a complete description of what goes into a typical tour, with all of the things you’ll need to know to feel right at home. That is followed by some of our favorite tours, based on their starting point, theme and cost of tasting fees. It is really a 'connect-the-dots' guide for navigating between wineries, picnic spots, restaurants, gift shops and of course, more wineries! Filled with self-driven, safe tours that have been road tested by professionals, you get all the fun without the fuss.
It is also chock full of maps that show where to find the best wineries in both Napa and Sonoma. The directory section includes hundreds of wineries with their pertinent information that you want such as tasting room hours, tasting fees and wine lists as well as any added features like if they have gift shops, picnic areas, art collections, gardens, views, tours and more. If we are not available to set up your tour, our books and iPhone Apps will help you to create your own daytrip with confidence! Go to the Books link to order your copy. Or email us to schedule a tour. Amicis Winery Tours of Napa, Sonoma or San Francisco.
