Wine Country @ Work
We just finished a new episode of Wine Country @ Work that we started in 2019, an interview with Kerry Smith, artist and tour guide . Thanks to the pandemic this has been a slow year for making new episodes. Hopefully 2021 will be better. In the meantime, this is a wonderful look into a local artist's work. She is also a talented and knowledgeable tour guide that we often work with.

The Amicis Winery Guide Books & Wine Country @ Work TV
We started producing our tour books in 2005 and our TV show in 2012. Creating them has been a great deal of fun and they have given us a unique understanding about the world of wine tourism; why visitors come here and what they find most interesting and enjoyable.
Watch Out!!!
We are using this quiet time in the tour business to create several new travel books about the North Bay Wine Country. They are less dependent on maps, thanks to the advances in the local GPS systems, and have expanded chapters and winery directories. We expect to have the first of the four books out in either February or March. Two more related books will be coming out right behind it. The Fourth book, which is a series of stories about the area will take a little longer, but we expect it to come out in in 2021.
Napa and Sonoma are the world's two top wine tourism regions, so the local guides have plenty of opportunity to develop their knowledge about the international wine industry, winemaking, agriculture and the wonderful culinary 'farm-to-kitchen' culture that makes its home here.
We're proud to be a part of that community that welcomes visitors from all over the world.
Custom Napa & Sonoma Wine Tours
We're Ralph & Lahni De Amicis, Wine Tour Guides, Travel Writers and TV Hosts. We drive custom winery excursions for up to six (6) guests in the gorgeous Napa & Sonoma region in our Lincoln Navigator. We often accommodate up to twelve guests by partnering with another guide. We also plan complete itineraries for up to sixty guests as destination managers.
CURENTLY: One of the secrets of Wine Country's success is that tourism, as big as it is, is not the main business here, wine making is! That has continued in the vineyards and caves without pause. And because this area has wonderful weather, the wineries and many of the restaurants have plenty of outdoor seating.
So, if you are planning on visiting, there are plenty of wineries to taste at and while many of your meals will likely be outside, you won't go hungry! Planning experiences is more complicated than usual, but that is what we do, so we will make it as enjoyable as ever! We hope to see you soon.
PS. This time of year you won't need an umbrella, but you will need a mask! :-)

Our winery tours focus on the wine, food, education and stories about the regions, and of course, getting you there safely. We also don't forget the importance of the spectacular views, beautiful gardens, art collections, farm to table meals and great gift shops that add to your enjoyment and relaxation.
Tours are built around our client's interests and wine preferences, and they normally include several wineries with a nice lunch in the middle, for either one day, or several.
Many small wineries require appointments and timing the appointments is tricky so we prefer to schedule those to ensure that the day flows gracefully. Itineraries are often a mix of client favorites and our suggestions, based on our conversations, and more often, multiple emails. We don't accept any compensation from the wineries, restaurants or hotels, so our suggestions are based entirely on our client's interests and preferences. We will also happily provide lodging and restaurant suggestions.
Our fees for small groups only cover transportation because winery tasting fees vary widely and couples can sometimes share tastings. That can be a good strategy because, in the course of a day, tastings can turn into a lot of wine.
You can call us at 707-235-2648, or use the form below, to arrange a tour. Note: We are on Pacific Time. Amicis Tours is licensed by CA-PUC TCP-31301 and commercially insured. Beware, many 'drive your car' people are not properly insured, and the local drive share drivers are not drug tested. In an area that has twice the DUI rate of the rest of California, and is known for the quality of its cannabis... Just saying, it makes you wonder!
